The belief that my life is going to always be the same changed during this holiday. There have been several dramatic changes actually. Some were due to the sub-prime effect and others were health-related.

There were several friends whose lives changed for the worse. My mother's colleague in her office recently lost $500,000 due to the plunge in stock market. She's in her sixties and was about to retire when this hit her.

1 week later, her daughter who's 26 yrs of age lost her eyesight. She was not involved in accident whatsoever.Doctors could not find out what actually went wrong. She simply woke up one day and completely lost her vision.

This has got me thinking that there are really unlimited unfortunate events that could befall to me or to people around me.
